Seasonal

I start with my seasonal blues..
Every year, by this time of year, mid December to mid February, I get my seasonal blues. I'm not sure why this particular time of the year; might has to do with the amount of terrible things that have occurred in this particular time of year. Maybe with the fact that we place so much hopes on the "new year" and by the end of the year, it's time when we face the fact that another year has gone and we haven't accomplished much. Maybe because I learnt to dislike my birthday (I'm a January born), because of the negative co notations that I grew to associate with it. Just maybes.. I can't really tell.

Anyway, I usually try not to acknowledge this season, hoping that if I ignore it, the blues will go away. Apparently, they never do. It's a nasty trick that life always plays on me. But , I'm fine.. really, or so I'd like to think.

Speaking of seasonal blues.. and in order to prove that I'm not making this up, I will share with you the story of my New Year in London. See, that was my year abroad, without parental control, on my own, London streets my playground, to do what ever I wanted..(you get the picture). I tried to be humble so that life doesn't treat me hard. I plan to go to a house party with my Greek friends. So I dress up, take the underground from where I used to live at Russell Square, and head to Putney. This trip should in theory take an hour, I left an hour earlier than needed. But because I'm such a lucky person, delays occurred on the District line. I watched the time fly on an almost empty cabin, except for two other people looking blankly at me , all of us hoping to reach somewhere on time. 11:30, 11:35, 11:40, 11:45, 11:46, 11:47, you can imagine how slow time passed and then suddenly the driver said , "Ladies and Gentlemen, Happy New year!". THAT was my escape new year, so imagine the rest!

Well anyway, that being said, I move from my seasonal blues to my seasonal greetings...
Happy New Year everyone!
May you never be cursed with demons like I have in my head!

It has been a while Yasmina since i read your blog, and i appologize big time for that. But i want to let you know that it wasnt your blog i wasnt reading.. It was nearly everything...

Let me tell you that to count my blessings i can start on an endless list focusing on the part that i havent experienced a brain surgery, suffered a stroke, total paralysis, heart failure or a coma!
Yes we all pass by moments that we feel depressed we feel like giving up on life. We lose someone we love. Whether we lose them cause we dont have any other option or we also lose them cause we also dont have no other option ( they take this option), but guess what, we learn to go on. We learn to live through a smile of a friend or words of kindess spoken by someone we love.
Oprah talked about feeling thankful ( yes i love opera) and she suggested having a thankful journey as it keeps us focused on the positive things in our lives. It helps us see what we have and puts our frustrations and worries into a prespecctive.
Not being thankful turns us into exhausting people. Look back at the moutains you climbed and all the growth and progress you made.
And if you are today what you dont want to be, then be grateful cause you know what you want to work towardS.

And guess what i believe a miracle will happen in your seasonal blues.

When Love Died

Yes, love died, about a year ago. No body knows exactly when, but it was sometimes early September or late August. Can you imagine something as big as love dying and no one noticing? Well, people did notice, in a way or another, but rather they couldn't possibly imagine that love , could in fact, die! For some, it changed into other feelings; feelings that could have usually be confused with love - lust, possessiveness , compassion, familiarity, kindness, fear of loneliness or even instinctive protectiveness. But there are a few people who are still lost at see with the void that death of love left behind. They struggle to find meaning. They... Ah well,.. Here are some stories from these people: Scene 4 Greenwich Wednesday, September 4th, 2014 It wasn't very rainy that day, unlike the rest of the week, so Tom thought that today has to be the day. He stopped at Marks and Spenser's on the way to class to pick up some flowers and concealed them cleverly. The day w...
