Rush

I haven't been updating you guys with my personal news for a while now. So much has been going on yet nothing much has happened... it's funny but weird... After joining OpenCraft, life has been taking a faster pace, giving me a pleasant rush in my blood making life more interesting. I've been exploring alot of roads.. both physical roads and roads in my life... At work, the good news is we won a really interesting proposal, which I have worked on (yeaaaaaaaay won my first proposal)...I'm sort of handeling several aspects of the project, some of which I have never done before and some I have. It's really challenging in an interesting way which makes me want to do my ultimate best.. I also have the best two coaches ever.. Rady and Karim; my managers(Thanks guys!). I'm learning so much alhamdulilah. So that's been keeping me busy for the last month almost! And here's another interesting blood rush! As mum always called me "shawar3ageya" which has

Title-less Story (continued)

Scene 2 Watching the last rays of sunset disappear into the Nile, Ibrahim sits in a trendy bistro in Zamalek , drinking his Cappuccino. He usually hated sunsets. He remembers , in his younger years, they were insignificant, just another part of the day; but he fell in love and the striving artist inside him used the red rays of the setting sun to draw hearts, cupids and arrows joining his name to that of Maha, his ex-wife.... Maha... that was a story done and over with a long time ago... but sometimes he still felt the pain. He has dealt very well with the emptiness.. but the pain of the broken heart, was still there. But , he'd rather not think about Maha. What got him to that trail of thought anyway? Ah... the sunset... Maha , oh well, her again, but that's a significant part of his life, ah well... Maha used to love sunsets, thinking they were so romantic and intimate, so somehow, she made them special. He proposed on a sunset and got a divorce on a sunset as well. In Weste

Wust el Balad

Last Friday, I went with Bux and Mona downtown (Wust el Balad) just walking around and taking some pictures. They picked me up at about 10, and we headed straight there, taking some random pictures of buildings and walking around in streets so beautiful that I couldn't imagine seeing them in Cairo. We went into several bookshops browsing and buying whatever looked interesting, then as Bux went to the Friday prayer, Mona and I enjoyed hot drinks at the amazing Cafe Riche...a cafe/bar/restaurant since 1908. Then we went to Felfela after the prayer, had some Ta3meya and fool, then headed back.. sounds like a field trip, right? Well enough words.. now the pictures!

A title-less story

A piece of fiction, longer than usual, written in web words of Arabic and English . I apologies for people who can't read it this way.. but I really wanted to try writing it the way I thought about it without having to translate it first.. However, I'm still willing to compromise if I get some feedback from you , my readers. I couldn't come up with a title yet... so I'm open for suggestions.. Before I leave you with the first scene.. I give the due appreciation to ji .. thanks for the inspiration! And as usual, I would really appreciate your feedback, comments on blog, emails or even personal calls ;) Scene 0 "Hey ya bugs, eih el akhbar?" "Abe, ahlaan ahlaan. Ana wala haga ya sidi, wenta?" "Let's do something" "Man, I'm too lazy, kont tool el nahar f mashaweer el sha22a ma3 Nouni. Just dropped her off and begad 3ayez 2a2ntakh" "Bugs, estargel ba2a.." "Tab 2a2olak 7aga... matigi. One happy thing and one sad!

was all I knew for a grandma. She's I'll start with the unhappy news so that when I end this post, I end it on a cheerful tone. Today, our next door neighbour passed away. Auntie Olfat has been almost my grandmother, my real grandmother on my mum's side died long before I was born and my grandma on my dad's side and I never got along. So Auntie Olfatnot only our neighbour but also, her husband is my dad's uncle. This lady was the kindest ever, she used to take care of me and my brother as children and seriously I will miss her around. The sad thing is, we knew she was dying for a while, and although I always tried to visit and stuff, I knew I wasn't there enough. I ask you all to help me pray for her , that's the least I can do. On a more positive note, I started today work at OpenCraft. I was actually too excited to sleep last night so in turn I'm so sleepy now. So far, I love it here. The only downside so far is the distance, it's in the other side
