Ironic

An old man turned 98, he won the lottery and died the next day! Is the first line of Alanis Morissette song "Ironic", which I used to sing with my friend's in our teen years. I never knew that this would be the story of my life! Well, life has a funny way of sneaking up on you When you think everything's okay and everything's going right And life has a funny way of helping you out when You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up i n your face and then my favorite bit is: It's meeting the man of my dreams And then meeting his beautiful wife But that's been the usual in the last 5 years to the extent that I have immunity against being disappointed about it!  But life never sees to be ironic, today was special: I went to a meeting supposed to meet a mid-thirties early-forties lady who I spoke to on the phone. But to my surprise I met this gorgeous guy instead.. gorgeous be7a2 rabena ya3ni! The most handsome guy I ever met. Pleasant

The Dubai Story

It all started when my mentor, (rabena ye7fazo w yekremo w ye7meeh.... 2oolo 2ameen), suggested I hit Dubai to do the meeting in person. - I said I couldn't afford it. -He asked "Not even for shopping?" - To which I pathetically replied, "Yes, of course if I go, I will shop for other meetings, partnerships and so on." - He said "Yasmine, shopping shopping, not business shopping." At that point it hit me, I have become a workaholic. Not that I didn't know that before, and not in the traditional meaning of the word, but what hit me was, I used to be a semi-shoppaholic- fashionista till not so long ago, what happened? Kept thinking and thinking, then I realized, the deadly threesome is what happened: age, weight and money (or rather lack of). Anyway, fast forward to 2-3 weeks later (sorry, lost track of time), I am writing this to you from Dubai. The trip kind of worked out on its own; got a sponsorship for a visa, stayed at my cousins, bridg

The Red Nail Polish

Warning, as per the title, its a girly post! The other day, I had an event coming up, and since I was having a bad *ehm* weight *ehm* day so I decided since I won't look good , I might as well look stylish or something ( a feeling that I lost a while back). But, nail polish was never my strong point, never was good at applying it but I said what the hell, I might as well try. So, I pick a color; bold red, from my sisters comprehensive collection and start applying. To my surprise, I actually applied 2 coats without smudging my fingers , not even my right pointing finer.. a miracle! I even resisted the temptation to answer emails, hold my phone or the laptop. I stand up, hold the bottle to take it back to my sister's room. I swear I have no idea how that happened, but the bottle fell from my hand broke on the floor and splashed RED all over. I would like to note that we have a white marble floor and a white leather sofa which my mum adores! I would also like to note that my f
