This weekend was brilliant. Seriously, it was full. I had dinner with Mona, who is here from Denmark for a week, then we walked around Virigin and I managed to be a good girl and not buy anything for a change (yes... trying to recover from my shopping addiction). Mona is my let's-try-something-new friend; we've been to concerts together, photo shoots, and other more or less traditional endeavors. Mona, who is unique , in everyway, left a major gap in my life when she got married and left to Denmark, but we like her husband, and we are so happy she's happy, so we decided to live with the fact that she's not here and stay in touch via facebook messages. And before you ask, we, being our humbleness Yasmine hanem El-Mehairy.Then Friday was a stay-at-home and bonding-with-sister morning, where all plans to go to the gym/track where destroyed by me just being lazy. The night was so cool, I visited Haboosha, my friend for 20 years, who although I don't meet often, once we do, it's like we just met last night. We kept on talking and talking, about everything, from Louis Vitton and Burrbery Shirts, to the prospects of meeting prince charming in a charmless world. It's nice to talk to someone who has been through similar experinces I've been through, who feels the same i-don't-belong-anywhere-i-go syndrome that I feel and who actually is taller than me, at least everyonce in a while.
Saturday was planned to be a "sports day" with Meyo, but neither of us was up for it, even the movie plan was cancelled. It was a quiet morning, ran a couple of errands in the afternoon, then picked up my parents from the airport early evening then cozy stay in night watching Ocean's Eleven and making cards with Yousra.
This whole card business is so awsome. I'm loving it. I design the patterns on photoshop (I can't thank dafont and brusheezy enough. I use the earlier's fonts and the later's brushes). I ordered some supplies from the US (rabena yekhaleeli Ji) but for now we're just using hand made paper.
Below is the latest group of cards..
